The Hockey Alberta Foundation’s mission is simple: We raise funds to foster and support the access to youth hockey in Alberta. We work in collaboration with partners to fund those who need us, invest in those who will lead us and honour those before us.
As a not-for-profit organization, the Foundation is guided by an elected Board of Directors and supported by dedicated volunteers across the province. Our work is driven by six guiding principles: integrity, sustainability, innovative leadership, teamwork, recognition, and building relationships.
Through scholarships and funding support, we invest in the future leaders of hockey and provide opportunities for those who need it most. By working with our partners, we’re able to deliver grants that help Hockey Alberta members and communities foster a love of the game for every kid.
One of our key initiatives is the Every Kid Every Community (EKEC) Grant. This grant supports both new and existing programs that introduce players to hockey, regardless of age, skill, gender, or background. Each group can receive up to $5,000 annually to help create more accessible opportunities in their community.
