The Hockey Alberta Foundation Golf Classic presented by ATB Wealth returns to Canmore on July 20-21 as hockey legends, community partners, sponsors, and supporters come together once again to raise funds in support of the Hockey Alberta Foundation and initiatives such as the Every Kid Every Community (EKEC) grant program and future leaders scholarship program.
Now in its 21st year, the Hockey Alberta Foundation Golf Classic has become one of the Foundation’s premier fundraising events, bringing Alberta’s hockey community together with one shared goal: reducing financial barriers and creating more opportunities for children and families to experience the game. Thanks to the generosity of donors, sponsors, and supporters, the Hockey Alberta Foundation has distributed more than $6 million to hockey initiatives across the province and that impact continues to grow each year.
The two-day event begins on Monday, July 20, with a VIP golf experience followed by an evening reception, where guests will connect with fellow supporters and hear firsthand how the Foundation is making a difference in communities across Alberta. Golfers will then take to the course on Tuesday, July 21, for a day of friendly competition and fundraising.
The winning team will have their names engraved on the ATB Wealth Hockey Alberta Foundation Golf Classic Trophy, with each player also receiving a Baron Championship Ring to commemorate their victory.
Proceeds from the Golf Classic support the Hockey Alberta’s Every Kid Every Community program, which provides funding to initiatives that create more inclusive and accessible opportunities for Albertans to participate in hockey. Through grants and community partnerships, the program continues to help remove barriers and grow the game across the province.
“The Hockey Alberta Foundation looks forward to this event every year because it brings our hockey community together for a common purpose,” said Jeff Robson, Chair of the Hockey Alberta Foundation. “Every golfer, sponsor, volunteer, and donor plays a role in helping us reduce barriers and create more opportunities for children and families to experience the game. We are incredibly grateful for everyone who continues to support our mission”.
Following the tremendous success of last year’s 20th anniversary event, which raised more than $150,000, the Foundation is excited to once again welcome an outstanding lineup of celebrity guests, partners, sponsors, volunteers, and golfers to Canmore for another memorable weekend.
The Hockey Alberta Foundation extends its sincere appreciation to ATB Wealth, returning as title sponsor for the 20th year, along with the many corporate partners, volunteers, and participants whose generosity continues to make this event possible. Their ongoing support helps ensure that more young people across Alberta have the opportunity to discover the life changing benefits of hockey.
